Matcha Waffle

Ingredients

-2 cups all-purpose flour
-2 tablespoons granulated sugar
-1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
-1 tablespoon baking powder
-½ teaspoon salt
-2 large eggs
-1 ¾ cups milk
-½ cup unsalted butter, melted
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
5. Let the batter rest for about 5 minutes to allow the matcha powder to fully dissolve.
6. Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter.
7. Spoon the batter onto the preheated waffle iron, using the amount recommended by the waffle iron's instructions. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
8. Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and place them on a wire rack to cool slightly.
9. Serve the matcha waffles warm with your favourite toppings such as fresh fruits, whipped cream, maple syrup, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
